Ban Co Peak – Danang peninsula

In recent days I have been exploring the peninsula in Danang. There is so much to see and do here, so I have decided to start a mini series focused on what you can get up to on this remote part of Danang. In this entry I talk about my experience at Ban Co Peak, which is a picturesque peak located in Danang’s peninsula.

Ban Co Peak – Location

How to get to the Ban Co Peak

You can drive up to the Ban Co Peak on foot or via motorbike. However, it’s important to note that if you are driving an automatic bike you will be blocked from driving up to the Peak by a security guard. They will inform you that the mountain is too steep to get up on with an automatic bike.

You can hire a manual bike for 150,000 VND approximately $6, these bikes are relatively old but generally work fine and are quite fun.

View of Danang from Ban Co Peak

If you’re lucky or plan for a clear day you will get an amazing view of the Danang city from atop of the peak. It’s a beautiful place to take photos and I would imagine would be great to go at sunrise or sunset.

Chess Board Statue

There a couple of nice spots to take photos up here, one being with the mysterious chess player who sits in deep thought pondering his next move.

Altar / shrine

There is also a small altar/shrine at the peak. If you’re interested in wishing for a better life maybe this is a good place to start.

Final thoughts

This has been one of my favourite destinations on the peninsula to visit with stunning views and an enthralling journey to the top, you simply can’t beat it.

You should definitely check out Ban Co Peak if you are travelling in Da Nang it’s a lot less touristy than the Lady Buddha statue and you’re likely going to get much better views if you plan for a clear day.
