If you’re looking for a unique experience when visiting Hoi An then I recommend that you check out the Duck Stop.
I recently visited the Duck Stop with my girlfriend on a weekend away in Hoi An and we both really enjoyed the experience. It was a great way to have a bit of fun and get some special photos.

Where is the Duck Stop Hoi An
The duck stop is tucked away in the peaceful countryside just outside of Hoi An. The journey to get there takes you through beautiful rice paddies, quiet village roads and the occasional grazing water buffalo.
On my previous visits to Hoi An, I hadn’t explored this area, but I’d definitely recommend it. It’s a refreshing change of pace from the busy Old Town and the beach, and it gives you a glimpse of rural Vietnamese life.

How to Get to the Duck Stop
The Duck Stop is located around 4 km from Hoi An Old Town, which takes roughly 15 minutes by car or motorbike.
You can also cycle there if you’re up for it. It might be a bit hot, but the route is incredibly picturesque and definitely doable.
Duck Stop Hoi An Price (2026)
One of the most surprising things about the Duck Stop is that there’s no fixed entrance fee.
Instead, visitors are encouraged to leave a small donation at the end of their visit. We paid 100,000 VND (around $4 USD), which felt very reasonable for the experience.
What to expect
We opted to take a Grab to the Duck Stop, although our driver dropped us off at a nearby coffee shop/restaurant about 300 metres away. To be fair, the place isn’t the easiest to find.
At first glance, it doesn’t look like much and you might even think you’re in the wrong place. That was certainly our first impression.
So with some slight hesitation, we decided to walk the short distance and as we arrived at the entrance were thankfully greeted by a friendly local man who spoke good English. He gave us traditional Vietnamese conical hats to wear and showed us how to call the ducks.
I won’t even try to describe the sound you have to make. you’ll have to see it for yourself or watch the videos that I have included at the end, if you want to have a good laugh. At first, I thought it might be a joke, but it actually worked. Within seconds, a huge flock of ducks came rushing towards us.

Duck feeding
We were given a small bucket of duck feed and as much time as we wanted to enjoy the experience.
Being surrounded (and occasionally chased) by dozens of ducks is definitely something you don’t do every day. I’ll admit, I was a bit apprehensive at first, but the ducks were surprisingly friendly and didn’t bite.
That said, it can get a little overwhelming at times, but in the funniest way possible.

Final thoughts
I’d say the Duck Stop is a must-visit if you’re in Hoi An.
Not only do you get to explore the beautiful countryside and peaceful rice fields, but you also get a truly unique and fun experience. It’s especially great for couples or groups, and you’ll leave with some unique photos.
